Crisis Art Exhibition
In a world facing increasing turmoil, Jimbafest 2024’s visual arts program aims to explore and critique the escalating global crises through its exhibition, “Crisis”. Dr. Putu Agung Prianta, founder of Jimbafest, sees this exhibition as a way to confront and analyze the harsh realities of today’s world—environmental degradation, social inequality, cultural erosion, and humanitarian crises—all interconnected and worsening.
The exhibition will go beyond showcasing art for beauty’s sake, focusing instead on works that provoke thought and raise awareness. Agung Prianta created Jimba Art Hall, inspired by old warehouses in Europe and Asia, to serve as a new art hub in Jimbaran, Bali. The hall’s inaugural exhibition, “Crisis,” will feature 13 artists, both local and international, including notable names like Made Wianta (Indonesia) and Stephan Spicher (Switzerland). These artists will present works that reflect and critique the many crises we face, aiming to spark wider conversations and inspire concrete action.
